There are great options for vegans here, with lots of fresh vegetables and creative ingredients that can be used to build-your-own sandwich. Although the restaurant is known for their meat-heavy sandwiches, there are so many ingredients available that we seem to get a new delight every time we come here.
You pick the bread, the “meats”, and dressing/sauces, and veggies. In terms of meat, the only vegan option is roasted portabello. But with veggies, the choices include, onion, leaf lettuce, olive, sprouts, spring mix, banana peppers, tomato, cucumbers, jalapenos, slaw, kraut,pickles, avocado, roasted bell peppers, basil, spinach, grilled asparagus, and pine nuts (they also list roasted mushrooms and onions, which we were told were cooked in butter—though the roasted portabella was not). Sauces include whole grain mustard, English mustard, Dijon mustard, roasted garlic spread, horseradish, and roasted red pepper spread.
You can order your sandwich grilled or cold. We nearly always chose grilled. The staff are always friendly and helpful in researching ingredients. We recommend JB Sarnies for creative vegan sandwiches. We like JB Sarnies so much that we had them cater our wedding (along with Zingo’s).
